Memory of an invasion - On this day 2003

Memory of an invasion - On this day 2003

I have already seen a few posts, many from veterans, recalling the start of the war in Iraq fifteen years ago.  What started on the 20th March 2003 was the beginning of what would be years of conflict.

War to me seemed to be a foredrawn conclusion.  I had arrived in Kuwait in a small fleet of seven warships, having embarked on the 11th of January, arriving in mid-February.  We had watched the combat power build up, and heard further word about what was waiting elsewhere in the Kuwaiti desert.

On this day - 12th March 2003

I have not been doing a great job keeping up with this blog.

When I first started at the beginning of the year, I had resolved to write something at least once a week.  So far, this hasn’t happened.  Certainly I have had plenty to keep me occupied.  Between life, work, and trying to research and write my PhD, I have had plenty to keep me busy.  Recently, I found as good a piece of evidence as any that has demonstrated to me just how difficult keeping a journal or blog up to date would be for me personally.

Let’s Get Started...

Let’s Get Started...

At the end of 2017, I resolved to get a website up and running to help me get word out about my research, but also to share ideas about those I care about and spend lots of my time thinking about.

Now one year into my PhD research, I finally, I got to the point this month while editing my latest chapter of my thesis that I decided I put this off long enough.
